ODE TO COACHELLA from AUSTRALIA

ODE TO COACHELLA in AUSSIE STYLE (according to our weather!)

For those of us who can’t be at the Coachella Festival (I am so envious of you if you are there right now, you’re so lucky! I hope to experience it one day) I decided to dedicate this weeks post to the brilliant and eclectic fashion styles that appear at the Coachella Festival every year. I’ve worked the Coachella style to work around our autumn (fall) weather here in Australia. So I’ve checked my trusty weather app on my phone for this weekend’s weather and it’s forecasting tops of 20 degrees, sunny and clear for both Saturday and Sunday in the surrounding Geelong and Melbourne areas. YAY!

So what is the Coachella festival?

For those who aren’t that aware on what Coachella is, let me just tell you that it is one of America’s most awesome yearly music festival events!  The Coachella Festival started in 1999 and is an annual music and arts festival that is located in the Coachella Valley in the California desert. It features a wide range of so many different types of music genres such as rock, hip hop, electronica, pop and indie music as well. You kind of could say that it’s similar in a way to the Big Day Out (a music festival here in Australia).

“Coachella is a ‘see
and be seen’ fashion moment.”

Apart from the brilliant and many different top selling musical artists that take to the stage, Coachella has also become extremely well known for its fashion that the general public and the celebrities wear to it. A wide range of eclectic fashion is found every year at the Coachella Festival and its reminiscent to a certain degree of the Woodstock era. Crop tops, fringe-lined dresses, skirts, crochet pieces, beaded shorts, and floral printed outfits etc are found at the event amongst many other styles. This year, for the first time in the festivals 16 year history, H&M have set up on the grounds a store, as part of their partnership with the festival. So while you’re there, you can now buy the latest Coachella inspired outfits from the H&M store right outside of Coachella! Music, arts and shopping. Now thats my kind of festival!

Hope you all enjoyed my Fabulous Fashion Friday post this week.

Have a fabulous day and weekend everyone!
