Find Reliable Spots

There are few things worse than not being able to connect to the internet. While everyone says you should put your phone down and enjoy the scenery, this isn’t possible if you’ve got blogging responsibilities, so you need to find somewhere you can rely on.

Your hotel or hostel should provide a stable connection, while local cafes can help, too. If you encounter any problems with Wi-Fi, there are solutions to help you get back online. If you can’t, you can still write your post in a draft before adding photos and links later.

Designate Chill Days

It can feel like you’re doing too much when travelling, and that’s the point. But, it also means you may be too exhausted to focus on your blog, so taking days off can prevent traveller’s fatigue and give you time to catch up on any writing or other admin work you may have missed over the past few days.

However, remember that you’re there to enjoy your adventure. You shouldn’t treat it as work, even if you have some stuff to do. So, don’t stress over missing a post one day. Just don’t make a habit out of it, or you could lose your audience.

Use Your Notebook and Phone

You may think that you’ll remember everything while travelling, but your memory can be deceptive. If you want to guarantee you get the full details, make sure you bring your notebook and phone with you.

Use your notebook to record times, activities and anything interesting. Use your phone to take pictures, especially as images enrich the blog post and will make it more engaging and rank higher on search engines.

Write While You’re Moving

If you’re unable to find the perfect time to write or clean up your posts, try to squeeze it in while you’re on the move. You won’t be able to do anything else during bus rides or plane journeys (except maybe sleep), so you can catch up on anything you’ve missed out. You can write about the places to discover in Ipswich that you have found, or other little gems that you think your readers will be interested in while they are still fresh in your mind!

Again, you can create the bare bones of your blog post or go through them and check for grammar and spelling errors. If you have a hotspot, you can connect to that too so you’ll be able to schedule or post it.

On the Move

Travelling can feel like a whirlwind of activity, but if you want to keep up with your blog and captivate your audience, these tips will help you find the best balance between fun and work, so you can write a little here and there, and then enjoy the rest of your time wherever the adventure takes you.
